Honorable Mention Honey Moon Maryann Hazen Stearns A dozen and dozen moons more than grandma's years on the astral chart of my summer-morn daughter, and a dozenth more than that, the red hibiscus grew in this patch. Each Litha brings its green stalks to the edge of my garden. Wild bees gather; birds of the muse, who settle my lips like a love song. Pollen-laden legs tickle and I blow a kiss at each vibration of whisper and wing. The giant red face of hibiscus opens its eye, marvels at the flight of the divine messenger on its journey to the rim of a golden honey moon.
